StarLight is a non-profit organisation that supports mentally ill patients in hospitals and the community by providing welcome packs and gifts. Kathy Simpson started the organisation in Auckland, New Zealand, where she gathered presents for mental health clients for about ten years. StarLight has also received donations from various organisations and community clubs such as Manawatu Rotary Clubs, Air NZ, BNZ, and McDonald’s Manawatu.

The StarLight Trust has accomplished significant preparations for the 2023 holiday season, packing over 700 gift bags for adults and expecting to meet the target of 700 for children, with 550 already prepared. They have around 250 Whitcoulls teddies to deliver. Additionally, they've packed 250 pet packs containing food, treats, and flea treatment for dog owners, and they anticipate another 250 pet packs with cat food and treats, generously donated by Mars Petcare. These pet packs are vital as they help pet owners who might otherwise struggle to afford care for their animals during the holiday season.
The Trust will also deliver 780 amenity packs to Ward 21, each containing essentials and a touch of comfort. They continue providing gifts for cancer teenagers throughout the year, including beanies, caps, slippers, nail varnish, lip balm, toiletries, and teddies. The Trust expressed gratitude to those involved and acknowledged the generous donation from the Milson Rotary Club.
