Milson Rotary is made up of individuals who are deeply committed to their community, and few exemplify that better than long-time member John Morrison.

John was virtually born into service. His parents, Bill and Jill, opened Morrison’s Pharmacy in Awapuni in 1962, and John grew up surrounded by a strong sense of community spirit and care. From delivering medicines on his bicycle as a schoolboy to rebuilding the family pharmacy after the “sweetest smelling fire in Palmerston North” in 1974, John has always been about rolling up his sleeves and making a difference.

Milson Rotary — ordinary people, doing extraordinary things together.

After training at Massey University and qualifying as a pharmacist in 1984, John carried on his family’s tradition of service for more than 40 years. To generations of locals, Morrison’s Pharmacy wasn’t just a business — it was a place of trust, friendship, and community support.

That same commitment to people is what brought John to Milson Rotary. Here, he has continued to give back, not through prescriptions, but through projects, fundraising, and hands-on help that make a difference both locally and globally.

At Milson Rotary, you’ll find people like John — business owners, professionals, and community-minded locals who share a passion for making our world better in practical, meaningful ways.

And that’s really what Milson Rotary is all about: everyday people, from all walks of life, coming together to make a difference while enjoying friendship and fun along the way.

If you’d like to meet people like John, share a laugh, and do some good in the community, why not come along and see what we’re about? You might be surprised at just how rewarding it is.
