I’ve heard the whispers of frustration regarding ClubRunner. Let’s be honest: most of us just want to check our duties, find a phone number, or see who's coming for dinner. The mobile app does all of this. I’ve been mentioning the App at meetings for months, but if you haven’t downloaded it yet, now is the time. If you’re committed to doing things the hard way, feel free to stop reading here and enjoy the manual labour! For everyone else, let’s get you sorted in three minutes.
Step 1: Get the App
Go to your App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android) and search for “ClubRunner.” > Note: If you aren’t sure how to download an app, find a grandchild or a tech-savvy neighbour—I’ve reached my limit on that one!
Step 2: The "Magic" Login
Once it’s installed, you’ll need to log in. Since most of us have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to passwords, ClubRunner has a "Magic Link" button. On the App its called “Login via email”
Click the Magic Link or the “Login via email” Button
Enter your email address (the one the club actually uses to reach you).
Check your inbox (and your Spam folder!) for the link.
Act fast: You have 10 minutes to click it before it expires.
What's hard about that?
Step 3: Make it Yours
Once you’re in, you’ll see a list of features with little stars next to them. Click the stars for the things you actually care about to pin them to your home screen. I recommend:
Contacts: To find your fellow members.
Club Events: To see what’s coming up.
My Commitments: This is where your "Meeting Support" (duties) live.
Chat: A Committee group, maybe?
Why Bother?
Inside the app, you can easily accept or decline invites. You can see if you’ve been lucky enough to be selected to support Barb at the next meeting. You can even read the reports John Morrison spends so much time preparing, perfect for catching up on what you missed while you were "away."
The Challenge: Consider this your Rotary Login Test. Once everyone has graduated from "App Entry 101," we can look at the more advanced stuff.
See you on the app!
