The Milson Rotary Club’s changeover of presidents was a celebration of our achievements over the past year. We marked our 50th birthday with a splendid function at Wharerata, Massey University, attended by seventy members, past members, and visitors. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, making it a truly memorable event.
Our anchor fundraising projects, the Golf Tournament and Christmas and Winter markets parking, were once again a great success.
These efforts enabled us to make charitable donations totaling around $25,000.
Among the beneficiaries were:
- Arohanui Hospice
- The Children’s ED at Palmerston North Hospital,
- Hockey Manawatu,
- Achilles Manawatu,
- an African water project,
- and the Starlight Trust.
We also took pride in supporting young people with various activities, including:
- an internship at the United Nations,
- sailing on the Spirit of Adventure,
- participating in the National Science & Technology Forum,
- and playing football for the NZ Under 16 team in Australia. As always, we contributed to the Rotary Foundation.
This year has been a testament to our club’s dedication and hard work, and we look forward to continuing our mission of service and community support in the coming year.
