The Origin Story:
The Milson Rotary Courtesy Ford Charity Golf Classic isn't just a tournament; it’s a masterclass in community impact. Since its humble inception in 2003, this event has evolved from a strategic pitch into a cornerstone of local fundraising, blending competitive spirit with a "fun-first" philosophy.
Activity on Every Green
The "secret sauce" of the Classic is the sheer density of activity across the course. Highlights include:
Novelty Challenges: Features unique competitions like chipping into a concrete mixer and closest-to-the-pin challenges.
High Stakes: A hole-in-one could win a Courtesy Ford Ranger valued at approximately $55,000.
The Rotary Engine: Over 20 members and spouses handle the heavy lifting—setting up marquees, running barbecues, and ferrying refreshments via golf carts.

A Strategic Partnership
The tournament’s roots trace back to a pivotal connection. It began when Grant McCaskie of Capture Signs approached Courtesy Ford to sponsor a hole at the golf club.
Rather than a standard corporate outing for clients, the Milson Rotary Club saw the potential for something much larger. They secured the entire course, turning a single-hole sponsorship into a full-scale charity event with two clear goals:
Financial: Raise $5,000 annually for five years.
Social: Prioritise fun to ensure long-term participant loyalty.
